PROJECT WORK
PMDevelopments can draw on over thirty years of experience coordinating successful projects of differing scale and type. This includes the development and implementation of building programmes, community engagement initiatives and stand-alone events. My role in these projects has involved preparing project proposals and feasibility studies; establishing and supporting organisational structures; and managing budgets, staff and volunteers.
In 1992, I was contracted by Swansea Environmental Forum to set-up an Environment Centre in Swansea. This involved securing widespread political and community support; raising substantial amounts of funding and in-kind resources; leading a team to plan and execute the renovation and extension of an historic building; establishing a new charitable company, and its organisational structures and administrative procedures. After two years of planning and establishing the Centre, I went on to manage and develop the Centre for a further eight years. In 2018, I returned to the Centre Manager role, on a part-time basis for two more years, to help stabilise the project and restructure the organisation. As manager of the Environment Centre, and subsequently working as a freelance project worker, I have played a key role in the development of the Sustainable Swansea Initiative and other projects of Swansea Environmental Forum including the Swansea Sustainability Trail, the Sustainable Swansea Awards and Low Carbon Swansea Bay (which I still coordinate). PMDevelopments has coordinated projects for several other organisations and partnerships. Past examples include the Swansea Cycle Challenge (Challenge for Change), the Love Your Countryside Festival (CCS), the redevelopment of Bishop's Wood Countryside Centre (CCS), the Stop Waste in Our Landscape initiative (Environment Agency Wales), the Smart Nature Community Consultation and Conference (Natural Resources Wales) and the Swansea Bay Healthy Travel Charter (Public Health Wales). I have managed many events and exhibitions, and undertaken research to support project development and funding bids. |
